LIST OF EXHIBITIONS ON THE TOUR
Textile Museum of Canada
Made By Many: 50 Years of the Textile Museum of Canada
Made by Many is an opportunity to reflect on the Museum’s curatorial direction throughout the past 50 years, showcasing the many approaches, values, and visions that brought these exhibitions to life. The exhibition unfolds across galleries and over 30 exhibitions that trace the Museum’s evolution from the present day back to its beginnings in the 1970s.
Always In Fashion
Curated by Amber-Dawn Bear Robe, Always in Fashion is an immersive exploration of Indigenous design languages and their transformative impact on the fashion landscape of the lands we call Canada and the United States. This exhibition emerges from the urgent need to recognize and celebrate Indigenous designers who are reshaping the industry by reclaiming cultural narratives, innovating with ancestral techniques, and challenging colonial frameworks within fashion.

Reflecting on themes of intergenerational knowledge and healing, Wiigwasitig / Waskway / Honouring the Birch Tree includes the works of five First Nation artists focusing on Wiigwas (birch bark). Coming from Anishinaabeg and nêhiyawak communities over several generations, the exhibition features bark biting, baskets, wearable art, photography, and film through an intersection of traditional and contemporary forms. The works of Pat Bruderer (Halfmoon Woman), Helen Pelletier, Amber Sandy, Seth Arcand and the late Angelique Merasty are curated by Albany Sutherland, opening conversations on the significance of knowledge systems in sustaining relationships with the Land and kin.
